Race day is tomorrow!

We are excited to have surpassed our previous record in registrations!  Thank you!

Race day is tomorrow, February 13th.  The race starts at 10am.  Here are some last minute tips:’

Traction:

If you have any ice grips (Due North Traction Aids), it will be a good idea to wear them, or at least bring them along.  With the recent snowfall this week, and warm weather yesterday, we have a few icy spots.  We are doing the best we can with maintaining the course, but it is always better to plan ahead.

Registration: Begins at 8am at the Grand Forks Herald Building.  Use the Alley Entrance just off 4th street.

If you are pre-registered, you are guaranteed a shirt (pre-registered means that I have your registration in my hand today).  Pre-registered runners, please check in at the “pre-registered” table when you arrive at the GF Herald Building.  You will see a clearly marked table.

Day-of registration IS available. There is a separate registration table for those who are not yet registered. Please go to that table when you arrive on Saturday morning.  Registration opens at 8am.  I would suggest getting there by 9am.  We cannot guarantee a t-shirt or bag to walk ups.  It is a possibility that we will run out.  If we do run out of t-shirts, we will consider doing a re-order depending on how many we are short. Bags are “while supplies last”….no re-orders on those.

Parking/getting to the race:

From the south: Go NE on DeMers.  Take a LEFT at 5th street.  Take a RIGHT at 1st Ave. Parking ramp will be on your RIGHT). *1st Ave intersects with 4th street which is where the race will begin.  At the intersection of 1st and 4th, look left and you will see the start!  Please refer to THIS MAP to get your bearings of where I am pointing you.

From the North: Go SW on DeMers.  Take RIGHT at 4th street.  Parking ramp will be on your LEFT.  The race will begin on 4th street.  If you’re on the right road, you won’t miss it.  Refer to the map posted above to make sure you know where you’re going.

There will be a BAKE SALE tomorrow provided by the parents of our Special Olympians.  Everything will be $1 and all proceeds will add to the final donation from the Frozen Feat event.   (www.specialolympicsgf.org).  Items include cookies, brownies, bars, and more!

Post-Race:

Post race food will be available to the participants of the race.  Food includes bananas, pretzels, water, and a sport drink.

We encourage you to check out the Winter Fest soup tent after the race!  The soup tent will be located on the East Grand Forks side near Cabela’s.  CLICK HERE to go to the Winter Fest page.  Click “Map” to see where the Food Tent will be. that will be. Be sure to check out ALL of the events happening at Winter Fest on Saturday!

Thank you for registering for the race.  We look forward to a great event tomorrow!!

Top finisher trophies

Top 3 men and top 3 women for each race will be getting a special “12 of a kind” custom designed Frozen Feat trophy.

Special Thanks to W.K. for the stellar design.

Finisher Medals are Here!

All participants of this year’s event will receive a super awesome one of a kind (or 1 of 200) finisher medal.  You are encouraged, but not required, to wear this medal around your neck the remainder of the weekend so you can brag to friends and family of what you accomplished!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Frozen Feat web site. The Frozen Feat is all about conquering challenges; the challenge of your completing your first 5k or 10k, or beating your previous PR; the challenge of getting up early on a Saturday morning to run a race; the challenge of actually GOING outside in February in North Dakota to run a race! Frozen Feat is here to help you conquer the feat by supporting you with great courses, great volunteers, and cool prizes and goodies, too. If it’s your first race, or your 101st, make Frozen Feat part of your annual race schedule and let’s conquer the feat together!

Frozen Feat is quickly growing. Entering its 3rd year in 2010, it has established a “home” in Grand Forks, ND and has nestled into the wonderful month of love….February! Run the race as an individual, or as part of a “Lovebirds” team! Kristine and Tyler nabbed the title last year. Let’s see if they can defend it this year!

On top of that, this popular regional event started because of a great organization; Special Olympics Grand Forks. All proceeds from the Frozen Feat events will go to help this organization and the athletes accomplish huge goals throughout the year. Thank you for your support! To learn more about the organization, please go to www.specialolympicsgf.org.

The 3rd annual Frozen Feat is on Saturday, February 13th, 2010, and believe me when I say this is an event you and your “lovebird” (or friends, family, acquaintances, co-workers, etc) won’t want to miss!

See you at the Feat!
